APPLY FOR THE POOR PRINT COMMITTEE 2026-7

Having almost reached the end of the academic year, we are also reaching the end of our time as Editors for The Poor Print! So, we are looking for a team of ideally 3 people to take over the The Poor Print 2026-7. No experience is necessary, we will give a comprehensive handover of everything from editing, publishing, marketing etc. It genuinely gives you good experience, looks great on a CV and can even be fun! Please find the application form below – it should only take a couple minutes to fill out and will give you a whole year’s worth of Poor Print fun to look forward to!

The Poor Print warmly welcomes submissions from any member of Oriel College – JCR, MCR, SCR or staff. Please send them to us via our submission form using the button above. (The form requires you to use a Google account – if this poses a problem for you, please send your submission to us at the email address mentioned in the form.)

We can publish basically anything: articles, prose compositions, poetry, artwork, music compositions/recordings/playlists, crosswords, memes, or anything else you can think of are all welcomed. Check out the pieces uploaded to this website for a flavour of what we accept.

There’s no need to check ideas for pieces with us – but if you’d like to, feel free! As a rough guide, we ask that most written pieces other than poetry be between 200 and 1200 words, but this is far from a hard-and-fast rule. Don’t let us limit your creativity!

Each edition has a theme to stimulate submissions and a deadline for submissions: please see the poster for this term above. Feel free to interpret the themes however you like, or entirely disregard them if you prefer.

Happy writing! 🦁
