On Second Thoughts,

by Siddiq Islam

that thing I had planned to do
was probably not that great of an idea
anyways.

Silly concoctions of the mind
break away,
biscuit crumbs soaking
in the Earl Grey of common sense.

‘Swap unrealities
for sturdy, long-term investments,’ they tell me.‘
Just like crypto!’
On second thoughts, maybe not …

And on third thoughts, swim in it.
Drown and laugh in the stupidity of my intentions.
Everything I do was that great of an idea
anyways.
