If You Feel Hollow Inside

by Soo Yi Yun

If you feel hollow inside,
Embrace those fragments of light
through your curtain slit.
You will be alright –
Day by day, bit by bit.

If you feel hollow inside,
Draw out those fragments of love
From the darkest corners of your mind.
They are like the dove
That brings you peace; I know you will shine.

If, like me, you feel hollow inside,
With tears welling up and overflowing from your swollen eyes,
And the hurt and depression you carry scarring your smiles,
Open up those fragments of pain, both tears and tears:
There is someone who will listen to your silent cries
Who will want to go a few extra miles,
And be the companion who finds you dear –
I’ll be here.
