‘Gallery Dreams’

by Tom Saer

Categorical return to my island
the contract sees still breathing
sworn on cherry blisters
but now, don’t worry, I have a stronger hardback
body of 8-year-old mermaid me

Matchless bathing mansion waiting
to show its flat excited chest
a dream much closer to both of our folds

At the biggest surprise of them all
fuck you!..
I’m going to cry when it’s over
but my knees will never touch the ground

And with every stroke of kenosis
the street was stronger
with rubble fallen into the hill
is that a lap-embedded crevice
or a standing oval river hatch

Hello first isolation, or, maybe,
hello first length of ladder
because every fibre of that rope is in the one in staircase 10101

Cathedral cedar
warming past the traffic light into life
back to waking and tree leaves
Have I Left Him
