Square knows no infinities

by Odessa Ng

I don’t want to talk a lifetime
I don’t want to contemplate a future
He wants a future with her
They want a future with her
But what does she want
A future with whom
Or a future at all
An existence
A past.

Point
Is there any
To start all over
She has nothing
To complain, a life
With ups and downs but
She’s so lucky to have them
The best people to nurture and love her

But in turn what did she give them
Stress, hurt, betrayal, regret
It’s all part of her poetry
Inevitably melancholic
The price she offers
For her love.
Can you
Afford,
Why?

Love
Loving her
Reflect, reflect
You will crack, cry, break
Cornered, caged, trapped
In her tantalising love, tempting
Not wanting to leave but knowing you
Should.  Because you want an infinity with her
But a square knows no infinities.
